Aluminate cement is a hydraulic cementitious material made from bauxite and limestone, which has the following significant characteristics:
1. High early strength and fast setting and hardening
The daily intensity can reach over 80% of the maximum intensity, suitable for emergency repair projects (such as national defense and road repairs) and special projects with high early intensity requirements.
Due to crystal transformation issues, the long-term strength may decrease by 40% to 50%, so it is not suitable for long-term load-bearing structures.
2. High hydration heat and concentrated release
Release 70%~80% of the total hydration heat within 1 day, suitable for winter construction (hardening can still occur at -10 ℃), but it can easily cause excessive internal temperature of concrete and is not suitable for large volume concrete projects.
3. Excellent high temperature resistance performance
Hardened cement stone can form ceramic bodies at high temperatures (1300-1400 ℃), and when combined with refractory aggregates (such as chromite), it can be made into heat-resistant concrete for use in high-temperature environments such as boilers and kilns.
4. Strong corrosion resistance but not alkali resistance
Anti sulfate and acid corrosion: The hydration product does not contain calcium hydroxide, has a dense structure, and has higher sulfate resistance than sulfate resistant cement.
Not alkali resistant: Alkaline environments can damage hydrated calcium aluminate, so it is necessary to avoid mixing with alkaline materials such as Portland cement and lime.
5. Other characteristics
Good waterproofness: Due to its compact structure, it has strong waterproofness.
Construction restrictions: When the ambient temperature exceeds 25-30 ℃, the strength decreases significantly, and wet and hot curing will accelerate performance degradation.
Attention: The unique properties of aluminate cement make it suitable for special scenarios such as emergency repairs and heat-resistant engineering, but strict adherence to construction specifications is necessary to avoid performance loss or engineering accidents.
